Peer Review Process
All submissions to J-SUSTAIN: Journal of Sustainable Business and Global Transition undergo a rigorous and transparent peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and relevance of published research.
1. Initial Screening
Each submitted manuscript is first evaluated by the editorial team to assess its alignment with the journal’s scope, academic quality, and compliance with submission guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected without external review.
2. Reviewer Assignment
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. The journal ensures an appropriate match between the manuscript topic and the reviewers’ competence.
3. Double-Blind Peer Review
The review process follows a double-blind system, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and evidence-based evaluations.
4. Review Criteria
Reviewers assess manuscripts based on the following criteria:
- Originality and contribution to knowledge
- Methodological rigor and validity
- Relevance to the journal’s scope
- Clarity, structure, and coherence
- Theoretical and practical implications
5. Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editor makes one of the following decisions:
- Accept
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts in accordance with the reviewers’ comments and resubmit them within the specified timeframe.
6. Review Timeline
The journal aims to provide the first decision within a reasonable timeframe. Authors will be informed of the progress of their submission throughout the review process.
7. Revision and Re-evaluation
Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation. The editorial team ensures that all revisions adequately address the reviewers’ comments before a final decision is made.
8. Confidentiality
All manuscripts and related materials are treated as confidential. Information regarding submissions is not disclosed to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and the editorial team.
9. Ethical Standards in Review
Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest and decline to review manuscripts where such conflicts exist. The journal upholds ethical standards to ensure fairness, objectivity, and integrity in the review process.
